OCC Education Coordinator Karla Beatty Elected to Project WET National Council

Karla Beatty, OCC education coordinator, was elected by the Project WET Region 5 states to represent them on the Project WET national council. Region 5 includes Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Arkansas. Beatty will serve a two-year term with the option of being reelected for a second term. She will serve as a liaison between Project WET USA Headquarters and the State Coordinators in Region 5 and also serve on the Publications & Products subcommittee.

Project WET USA is a grassroots level program that relies on each state coordinator, and his or her experiences, to shape the development, research, evaluation and evolution of the program. Project WET USA receives this guidance through the Project WET USA Coordinators Council. The Council provides advice and recommendations on policy, operations, and implementation of the Project WET USA program as directed by the Project WET state coordinators. The council helps create the annual work plan for the Project WET USA staff.
