Service Award: Lisa Knauf, 15 Years
Oklahoma Conservation Commission Chair Rick Jeans and Executive Director Mike Thralls presented Lisa Knauf with a Certificate of Appreciation for 15 years of service to the state. The presentation was made at the monthly Commission meeting on June 5.
Lisa received a Bachelor of Science in Forest Management from Stephen F. Austin University and a
Masters of Science in Forestry and Outdoor Recreation from the University of Tennessee.
From 1989 to 1992 Lisa was the first reserve coordinator for the Rogers County Conservation District at the Conservation Reserve at Rogers State University in Claremore. She
joined the Conservation Commission staff in May 1994 after working for the State of Maine Forestry Department from 1992-94)
Lisa was the education coordinator for OCC's District Operations division from May 1994 to January 2000. Lisa has extensive experience in conservation education. She is a facilitator for Projects WET, WILD and PLT. Lisa also served on the board of directors of the North American Association of Environmental Education.
In January 2000 Lisa was named assistant director of the District Operations division. Then in
October 2001 Lisa was named division director of OCC's new District Services division where she is responsible for providing assistance to conservation district boards and employees as well as providing oversight todistrict operations.
Since becoming District Services Division director Lisa completed work in the State of Oklahoma's Certified Public Manager's Program, graduating in September 2004.
